How we work

An order for a welded structure runs the same way every time, from the email with the drawing to the truck at the door. Eight steps, each with something you get back.

The order, step by step

Nothing in this sequence is a promise of a date or a price: those are written in the quotation for the specific drawing. The sequence itself is fixed.

  1. 01

    Enquiry

You send the drawing through the form or by email: STEP, DWG, DXF, PDF or ZIP, with the quantity, the material, the finish and the date you have in mind. Files are stored outside the web server and read only by our engineers.

  2. 02

    Drawing review

The production office and the welding coordinator read the drawing: weldability, weld preparations, tolerances against EN ISO 13920, machining allowances, finish, robot access. Questions come back before a price does.

  3. 03

    Quotation

A written quotation for the drawing as reviewed: price, lead time, what is included, the documentation that will ship, and any design-for-manufacture proposals, each one optional.

  4. 04

    First article

On a new drawing the first piece is built and inspected in full, welds and dimensions, before the series runs. The record goes to you; drawing changes are agreed before the second piece.

  5. 05

    Production

Cutting, forming, welding to written WPS under the certified EN ISO 3834-2 system, machining after welding where the drawing calls for it, blasting and painting in our booths.

  6. 06

    Inspection

Visual weld inspection to EN ISO 17637 against the EN ISO 5817 level, dimensional measurement on the FARO arm, supplementary NDT as ordered, coating thickness on request.

  7. 07

    Documentation

The documents the order asked for, assembled with the delivery: WPS and WPQR, welder qualifications, inspection records, material certificates 3.1 where ordered, coating report where ordered.

  8. 08

    Delivery

Machined faces protected, the structure loaded for the transport agreed in the quotation: standard truck or oversize transport, ex works or delivered, as ordered.

What to send

A STEP model and a PDF drawing together are the fastest route to a price: the model is unfolded for the laser nests, the drawing carries the tolerances, welds and finish. A DXF is used as supplied. Up to five files, 10 MB each, 25 MB in total, through the form; larger sets by email or a link.

State the execution class or weld quality level if it differs from EXC2 and level C, the material grade, the finish system and shade, and whether material certificates or NDT are required. Anything not stated is asked about at drawing review, not assumed.

Engineering support

What is not promised here

  • Lead times: not published, quoted per enquiry
  • Prices and unit rates: quoted per drawing
  • Crane capacity, maximum weldment size and transport limits: confirmed per enquiry
  • An EN 1090-1 declaration of performance: not offered
