Belt conveyor frames welded to drawing
The steel a belt runs on: a truss frame of chords and diagonals, a trough frame of plated sides with idler brackets, a ladder frame of two rails and cross members, with the head drum, the feed chute and the support arm welded or bolted to it. Kinked and folding frames are the same thing with a hinge or a change of angle.
The gallery holds conveyor frames from a metre and a half to over eleven metres, with and without their drive.
What the drawing must show
A part like this is priced from the drawing. The quotation is fastest when it carries:
- The idler pitch and the bracket positions along the frame
- The frame length as welded and as shipped, if a section folds or splits for transport
- Section sizes and plate thicknesses with the material grade
- The head and tail drum seats, and whether they are machined after welding
- The finish, and whether the frame is painted or hot-dip galvanised

A long discharge conveyor frame, built as a welded truss from twin top and bottom chords, zigzag diagonals and cross braces, with idler brackets stepped along both top edges and end plates with mounting bores at each end. A folded walkway edge runs along one side, with small gusseted lugs for guards and sensors. It measures about 10.2 m long, 1.1 m wide and 1.7 m high. Such parts are welded on the robotic track or by hand, with the bores and pads machined after welding.

- 10 094 x 2 571 x 1 389 mm
A folding belt conveyor frame, built as a long plated trough with ribbed side skirts, a drive drum housing at one end and a slim hinged arm that folds the tail section out. A square inspection hatch sits mid-trough, with the folding joint and pivot standing out clearly. It measures about 10.1 m long, 2.6 m wide and 1.4 m high. Such a part is tacked up on a fixture and welded through and laser cut from plate up to 20 mm.
- Overall size, L x W x H
- 8 913 x 1 705 x 3 153 mm
Kinked belt conveyor frame with a drive unit at the top end. It is made up of long side plates, a trough deck, cross members, a hollow-section frame at the low end and lugs along the sides. The bend between the level run and the incline stands out. It measures about 8.9 by 1.7 m. Here a part like this is tack welded on a fixture and welded out.
- Overall size, L x W x H
- 3 949 x 776 x 1 793 mm
An inclined side discharge conveyor with ladder-style channel side rails cross-braced with rungs, a cylindrical head drum housing at the top and a slim idler drum at the foot. A braced diagonal arm props the frame, with lugs and a chain for angle adjustment. It measures about 3.9 m long, 0.8 m wide and 1.8 m high. Such a part is welded by hand or on the 14 m robotic welding track, then bored and faced on the boring mill.
- Overall size, L x W x H
- 8 559 x 1 550 x 2 749 mm
A conveyor frame built as a ladder of two long rails joined by regular cross members, with plate gussets, bolt holes and small brackets at the lower end. The rails curve smoothly up to a raised, boxed centre section with closer stiffeners, then taper to a narrow end with lugs for pivots or rollers. It measures about 8.6 m long, 1.6 m wide and 2.7 m high. Pieces like this are welded on the robotic track or by hand, then machined after welding on a horizontal boring mill.
- Overall size, L x W x H
- 6 554 x 989 x 1 159 mm
A conveyor frame runs the length of two slim side rails joined by regular cross members, ending in a plated feed chute with raised, angled side walls. The flared chute mouth, the folded plate walkway edges and the pivot brackets at the far end stand out. It measures about 6.6 m long, 1.0 m wide and 1.2 m high. In this hall a part like this is run on the 14 m robotic welding track when the batch allows, with the bores and pads machined after welding.
- Overall size, L x W x H
- 4 943 x 1 480 x 602 mm
A conveyor frame built from two long side rails with drilled webs, cross members and gussets, carrying a drilled cover deck of plate over part of the top and a plated chute hanging below one end. The chute's angled front plate and the rows of bolt holes along the rails and deck stand out. It measures about 4.9 m long, 1.5 m wide and 0.6 m high. In this hall a part like this is tack welded on a fixture and welded out, then blasted and painted in house.
- Overall size, L x W x H
- 3 283 x 1 514 x 1 070 mm
A roller frame built up from a rectangular box section base that kinks upward into a long sloped arm, with cross tubes, diagonal struts and internal bracing tying the frame together. Two upright posts rise from the base, and hook brackets and mounting lugs line both sides and the arm edge. It measures about 3.3 by 1.5 m, standing 1.1 m high. Such parts are tack welded on a fixture and welded out.
- Overall size, L x W x H
- 2 293 x 1 656 x 694 mm
A side conveyor frame made from two profiled side plates joined by cross tubes and diagonal braces, with slotted lightening holes, a folded lower pan and a mounting bore through one plate. Each end splits into a pair of fork arms, with lifting lugs welded on top. It measures about 2.3 m long, 1.7 m wide and 0.7 m high. A part like this is laser cut from plate up to 20 mm and tacked up on a fixture and welded through.
- Overall size, L x W x H
- 1 999 x 1 590 x 649 mm
A conveyor frame of this kind is built from two tall side plates with rows of square windows, tied together by cross members and a folded top flange along each edge. Bored pivot eyes sit at both corners of one end, with a central bored lug on the opposite side. It measures about 2.0 by 1.6 m and stands about 0.6 m high. A part like this is cut from plate on the laser bed and tacked up on a fixture and welded through.
- Overall size, L x W x H
- 1 595 x 1 492 x 477 mm
A conveyor frame built from two deep plate side walls joined by cross tubes and flat bracing, with eye lugs, clevis plates and a stub shaft at the corners. Square mounting bores, bolt holes and box brackets at the lower corners stand out on the plates. It measures about 1.6 by 1.5 m and 0.5 m high. Parts like this are tacked up on a fixture and welded through, with the bores and pads machined after welding.
Each model is rendered from its own geometry in raw steel, without paint, and is shown as a still. Customer names, machine designations and drawing numbers are not published; part lists and files are not offered. The interactive model above this section is a parametric example, not one of these.
How a part like this goes through the hall
Side plates and brackets are laser cut, folded on the 400 t press brake over 6 050 mm, and the frame is assembled on a fixture that holds the idler brackets to pitch. A series of frames is welded on the 14 m robotic track; a one-off is welded by hand. The frame is blasted and painted in the booths on site, and where the drawing says so, the drums and idlers are fitted before it is shipped.
